The PE1CMO 70cm converter is a multi-purpose converter for receiving the 70 cm band at your 28 MHz HAM receiver.

This downconverter is build arround a Minicircuits ultra low phase noise VCO on 404MHz. The VCO is controlled by a PLL circuits that gets its reference from an external 10MHz GPS controlled OCXO. Note that without this external reference the downconverter will not function.

The RF frontend uses SMD double SAW filters for good supression of unwanted signals. The dynamic range is excellent. The mixer is a 17 dBm medium level mixer so that the total output IP3 is around +32 dBm.

This product is build in a CNC machined RF shielded housing with screwholes on 4 sides for easy mounting.
NOTE: product is not waterproof, needs to be placed in a waterproof housing for outdoor use.
